Stations of the Cross 2020

Call for Art

Art Subjects

Your art should draw inspiration from a scene or scripture that takes place after Jesus’ triumphal entrance into Jerusalem and the days before Easter.

There are many other potential scenes. For example, you could choose a piece that reflects the last supper, a woman anointing Jesus, or Jesus turning the tables in the temple.

There are many aspects of the crucifixion that could be portrayed, such as Jesus with the two thieves, Jesus thirsts, and breathing his last.

You could portray the women going to the tomb, or the stone rolled away.

These are difficult moments to portray. It is our prayer that these pieces will deepen our appreciation of Easter.

Submissions Timeline

Please let Pastor Cyndi know of your interest as soon as possible, and any preliminary work if the art is not yet completed.  This increases the likelihood that we can use your art.

Early submissions give the devotion writers time to write an appropriate devotion to accompany your piece.

Art of every form is welcome. You are invited to submit paintings, drawings, collages, digital art, sculptures, photography, blacksmith and other artisan pieces, all for a display that honors God and encourages participants to grow in appreciation for Jesus’ choice to take the cross.

Display Schedule

We don't yet know when we will be able to gather. But we trust that there will be a pent up demand for art, prayer, and worship together.

We will put up the stations quickly, as soon as we hear that gathering is permitted.

If you are considering sharing a piece, please contact Pastor Cyndi.

You are invited

You are invited to be part of the 2020 Stations of the Cross. In this prayerful journey, participants move from one station to the next, experiencing Jesus’ last hours with art , scripture, devotions and interactive elements.
