How do I join the church?

If you would like to become a Christian, talk with Pastor Ann about what it means to be a Christ follower.

If you are a member of another church, we will transfer your membership. You would talk with Pastor Ann about the meaning of church membership and set a date. You would promise to support the church with your prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness. The church would renew these promises, and promise to support you in your walk with Christ.

I want to be baptized

Baptism is a moment of connecting deeply with Christ. It symbolizes new birth in Christ, dying to old ways, and rising with Christ.

You can be baptized by sprinkling  (just a few drops of water), pouring (using a pitcher and bowl) or immersion (fully under the water). Each of these has special meaning.

An adult promises to follow Christ through the ministries and with the people of this Church, and we would promise to support you.

I want my child to be baptized

We baptize infants. Their parents or other guardians commit to God to guide and establish the faith. The church promises to do our part raising the child in faith.

Infant baptism shows that God's love is freely given. We don't "earn" God's love by our actions. It reminds the church that we are all responsible for helping nurture and protect children.

In this moment a child is marked spiritually as belonging to God and becomes part of the church family.

Confirmation

Every other year we offer a confirmation class in which young teenagers can determine whether they will commit to live a life of faith in Christ. It's a special moment. For those baptized as infants, it's an opportunity affirm their baptism for themselves. Those not previously baptized may choose to be baptized.
